What is Mafia wars?
It is a facebook / myspace game which you play as a mafia player in New York and Cuba and Moscow. It is more like a mini RPG game, where you complete jobs, whack other players to level up. Buy weapon and properties to earn money.
What characters are there to choose from in the game?
They can be differentiated into 3 categories.
Maniac - you generate energy a lot faster. As of now, i am playing a level 310 and have completed all new york jobs. and have complete almost all jobs in Cuba except level 3 El Cacique. As of now, i am generating 2 energy per 2.5 minute.
Being a maniac, you have a chance to be promoted to become a Button Man. Being a button man gives a small chance to win your fight regardless of whom you fought against. Yes, even with a mafia with 501 members when you have only 2 members!
Fearless – You recover your health faster. Which i feel is an useless ability, considering that you are able to heal at the hospital every 60s
Being a fearless, you have a chance to be promoted to become a Wheelman. A wheelman has a small chance to perform jobs using 0 energy. Great class if you play until level 200+. You will be able to a 76 energy job for 0 energy!
Mogul – you generate more money in a shorter period of time. For the other classes, they need 1 hour to generate, however you take only 45minutes. Which is pretty useless, to me as you will have too much to spend in the end. Unless you are targeting for 1000 billion money and 1 billion billion cash in bank.
Being a Mogul,you have a chance to be promoted to become a bagman. A bagman has a small chance to generate 2x the money while performing a job.
How do i gain xp and level up in mafia wars?
There are 2 ways to level up, first do more jobs or fight others. Check out the various new york job tiers if you wish to start off.
By doing jobs, you gain money at the same time together with your experience point.
What is Godfather and Rewards point in Mafia Wars?
Godfather is someone who is selling unique items in the game. The items can only be purchased rewards points.
Rewards points can be used to perform various tasks, such as refilling your health, stamina and energy points, having additional stats points. In other words, mafia wars reward points are extremely valuable.
How do i get more of reward points?
Pay using real world cash. As of now, you can purchase 21 rewards points or $5. Or log in every day to receive free rewards points.
How do i get properties. I want property instead of rackets
As of update by Sept 2009, all new players will receive rackets instead of properties. You will still earn money, but with rackets, you have to click the rackets to receive the money. While for properties, you will earn hourly income without having to do anything.
Is there anyway to get energy faster? My energy regeneration is too slow.

What is the best method to earn the most money in the game.
Do the job “Make Arrangement for a Visiting Don” in the boss job tier. You will receive 57.5 million using only 36 energy. That is a ratio of a whopping 1.6million earned per energy point!
How come the amount of money/XP i received from doing jobs is different from your screenshot?
Our stats , top Mafias, job mastery plays a part in the money we received for doing a job. Hence the difference. However, do not worry since they are all in % difference. For whichever job that has the most XP / Money on this website, the same job will give you the maximum payout / XP too ratio
How to receive special items such as pistol bayonet, golden skull?
Complete all 3 mastery level of a job class (complete all jobs of a job tier 3 times)
New York
Street Thug – You get Pistol bayonet (+4% to damage dealt in all fights)
Associate – Roadster (-7% damage taken in fights)
Soldier – Golden Skull (30s reduction in your health regen timer)
Enforcer – Money Plate (5% discount when buying properties)
Hitman – Chainsaw Bayonet (30s reduction in stamina regen timer)
Capo – State Senator (5% discount on repairing your properties)
Consigliere – Helicopter (30s reduction in your energy regen timer)
Underboss – Private Island (5% XP bonus for finishing a job)
Boss – Golden Throne (2x energy regeneration)
Cuba
El Soldado: – EL Rey Roadster (+40A +34D)
El Capitan – Guerrilla Commando (+38A +35D)
El Jefe: -Avispa Machine Gun (+54A +24D)
El Patron – Che’s Beret (+46A +34D)
El Padrino – Cocodrilo APC (+42A +56D)
El Cacique – Cazador Assault Rifle (+62 +25D)
From what you can see, the helicopter and golden throne is the best to assist you with leveling up.
It is so hard to complete a job tier 3 times to master everything! Is there an easier way?
Nope, there is no shortcut to success and getting good items. As you can see, the items you get for mastering a job tier are great! Hence, work your way to getting the rewards you deserved.
Take Golden throne as an example, its gives 2x energy regeneration rate . But the process to get is not easy. At the 3rd job mastery, some of the job gives only 2% for competing it. And to complete a job, it requires 63~76 energy!
I been through it, so stop grumbling 
What are collection vaults?
Collection vaults are a collections of vaults. It serves to provide you additional attributes by collecting a set of items in the mafia job tiers. By collecting all the items in a set, which we call vault, you will get special bonuses and even items called boosts which have a wonderful stats.

great insight, but I have completed a few job tiers and received the job mastery bonuses, but a few of them are useless for me:
Golden Skull (30s reduction in your health regen timer) – I dont have a health regen timer
Enforcer – Money Plate (5% discount when buying properties) – cant buy properties (i have rackets)
Capo – State Senator (5% discount on repairing your properties) – again no properties
pretty useless for us who use rackets instead of properties

i wonder why zygna is not bothering changing the items for the new players.
anyway, racket is a sucky way to earn money in new york, i am having properties and is passively earning my millions from doing nothing.
